Superhero/Superheroine Shirt Day:

Our students will have been working hard and settling into lots of new routines for one month on our first half-day of the year on October 7th.  We are going to celebrate one of our fan-favorite spirit days–Superhero/Superheroine Shirt Day on that day!  Dismissal will be at 11:30 a.m. on the 7th.

Picture Day:

Individual Picture Day is Wednesday, October 5th.  Information went home on Tuesday, September 20th. If you need another copy, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.

PTO Corner:

We will also keep the GRAIS PTO Facebook page updated with announcements throughout the year.  Our next meeting is being held on the 18th via ZOOM. Login info will be announced closer to the meeting.

As always, this is a friendly reminder regarding volunteering!  If you’d like to volunteer for any event you need to have fingerprints on file with the district and a CORI on file within the last three years.

ElderkinKatie@yahoo.com for any questions or concerns.

~BOOK FAIR

October is going to be a busy month!  The PTO is excited to start October off with the Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair is happening 10/3 to 10/7. The students will shop the fair during their library time. If they are absent or forget their money or form on the day they have library class,  it’s okay.  Students will have time to visit on Friday as a makeup day. We also are offering an after-hours opportunity on Wednesday, the 5th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. so families can shop together! You may also do this virtually if that makes it easier! Instructions will be sent home with a flyer at the end of the week so be on the lookout! Cash, check (made payable to GRAIS PTO), and e-wallet are acceptable forms of payment. Credit cards can be used on Wednesday evening.  We do need volunteers for this event so a Sign-up Genius has been sent out for volunteers.

  ~CATALOG FUNDRAISER

Following the book fair is the start of our first fundraiser. The catalogs will be sent home this coming week.  If your child has not come home with a catalog by the 7th, and you wish to participate, please contact the PTO.  This is an online fundraiser and all orders are shipped within 2-3 weeks directly to your home. Prizes will be awarded to the three top-selling students in the school after the results are sent from the company.

 ~EVENING SOCIAL

October will close with a Halloween Social held at GRAIS on the 21st from 6-8 p.m.. This will be a drop off event for fourth and fifth graders only.  Many volunteers are needed, so please be on the lookout for a Sign-up Genius email!  If you aren’t on the list, please contact the PTO.
