Dear Intermediate School Families,

Please be reminded that our second trimester grades will post to the portal tomorrow by the end of the school day.  Portal questions should be directed to Ms. Barboza in the main office at cbarboza@freelake.org.  Questions on grades should be directed to the teacher issuing them.  A staff list is provided here.

Exciting Solar Eclipse Viewing Opportunity:

Just after 2:00 p.m. on April 8th, a total solar eclipse may be visible from many parts of our country.  No location in our state will experience it fully, but some may see over 95% coverage of the sun, if weather permits.  Beginning just after 2:00, here at the intermediate school, we are providing children the opportunity to view the eclipse outside.  If you wish to have your child go out wearing protective eyeglasses, provided by the district, please return the OPT-IN form which was sent home on the 14th. Forms went home with the students on March 14th.  Students will rotate outside in small groups for just a few minutes with adult supervision.  They will observe the sun and later note those observations on paper in their classrooms for discussion the next day.  Without exception, OPT-IN forms are due to homeroom teachers by March 27th, no later.  There will be no disruption to student dismissal time.

Game Evening for GRAIS Students and their Caring Adults:

Please note our games event is designed specifically for fourth and fifth graders, with all activities connected to grades four and five curriculum only.  Also note that there is a firm start time to the activities, which is 5:45 p.m.  The link here is simply for us to gauge interest and plan for supplies, not to confirm attendance.  If you’ve already completed it, we appreciate you!

PTO’s Spring Social:

This social is a drop-off event next Friday, the 22nd from 6 - 8 p.m. here at GRAIS. Dress your student in purple, gold, and green to add to the Mardi GRAIS fun. Permission slips went home last week and are due tomorrow..  Please contact the PTO board at graispto@gmail.com if you have any questions about their event.  The PTO meeting, which is taking place virtually through Zoom is on Tuesday, the 19th at 7:00 p.m. Meeting ID:  477 737 8775 and Password:  graispto.

MCAS Practice:

There’s been a great response to the provision of these links to MCAS practice questions, so I will continue to include them here.
