Dear Intermediate School Families,

As the weather (hopefully) begins to get a bit milder and allows us to get outside more, please consider encouraging the boys and girls to dress in layers.

Trimester Grades:

Second trimester grades will be posted to the parent portal by the end of school day on the 18th.  If you have any issues with logging in please contact Ms. Barboza at cbarboza@freelake.org.  As we head into the final trimester of the year, we are witnessing so much growth in academics, effort, and behavior.  It has been wonderful watching lots of friendships develop and grow too!

Women in History Resources in the Library:

With over 400 books about women in biographies; collective biographies; and other subjects, the GRAIS library has books about women’s achievements in nearly every area!  These books include, but are not limited to Girls Who Rocked the World, Heroines from Sacajawea to Sheryl Swoopes, She Represents, 44 Women Who are Changing Politics . . . and the World, Remember the Ladies, 100 Great American Women, Rabble Rousers–20 Women Who Made a Difference, Let it Shine–Stories of Black Women Freedom Fighters,  and She Persisted in Sports.

PTO News and Upcoming Event:

The PTO would like to remind you of the next upcoming PTO meeting, which is taking place virtually through Zoom on Tuesday, the 19th at 7:00 p.m. Meeting ID:  477 737 8775 and Password:  graispto.

Let’s celebrate spring in style. Send your 4th and 5th graders to our next drop-off event on March 22nd from 6 - 8 p.m. at GRAIS.  It’s the Mardi GRAIS Spring Social!  Dress your student in purple, gold, and green to add to the fun. Permission slip is due on March 18th.

Game Evening for GRAIS Students and their Caring Adults:

We are getting excited for our evening event on the 21st, with scheduled games beginning promptly at 5:45 p.m.   The games’ questions are based on material your fourth and fifth graders have/are covering, so this is a special event just for them and their caring adults.  The link here is simply for us to gauge interest and plan for supplies, not to confirm attendance.  If you’ve already completed it, thank you!
