Dear Intermediate School Families,

Last week wass National School Counselors Week, and at GRAIS we celebrated our talented, kind, and ever-responsive school adjustment counselors, Mrs. Kyla Maderios and Mrs. Maranda Pennini.  Beyond servicing the social-emotional needs of students whose 504 plans or IEPs call for support from them, both are always happy to help any child in need and to assist families as requested.  Additionally, these selfless women head up our food pantry program, our Thanksgiving basket donations, and our holiday gifts program through local charitable agencies.

Kyla works with our fourth graders, while Maranda works with our fifth graders.  Next year, they will reverse grades, so that our students have two years with the same counselor, allowing for relationships to develop over the students’ time at the intermediate level.  We are so blessed to have these women on our team, as they make up a large piece of the fabric that makes our school special.  Mrs. Maderios can be reached at 508.923.3106, extension 3151, and Mrs. Pennini’s extension is 3152 should you ever need either.  I know you join me in thanking them for all they do every week, not just this one!

Plymouth State Character Education Assembly:

On Tuesday, we were treated to a lovely performance from the TIGER troupe from Plymouth State University.  Their message is “Be courageous, grateful, forgiving, and compassionate”  Our fourth and fifth graders were engaged and a wonderful audience.  Thank you to the PTO for arranging it and all of you for supporting fundraisers in any way!
