Both the boys and girls team won their home openers against Dighton yesterday. First the boys battled back after being behind by 1 going into the second half to win the game. The girls team took over and dominated in the second game of the night winning 49-12. The whole team played locked down defense only allowing 12 points total and only 2 of them in the first half. Both teams take on Berkley away on Monday.

The first annual Planksgiving Challenge was a huge success! We had many students hold plank for 5 minutes of longer. Very respectable! The challenge continues next semester for those of you who have not had wellness yet this year. See you then!

Each year, as part of their Civics curriculum, the 8th grade students at FLMS enter the VFW's Patriot's Pen youth essay contest. The contest asks students to connect their own experiences with America's history in a 300-400 word essay. Congratulations to this year's winners! Emma Wisniewski came in first place, Peyton Ashton claimed second place, and Ayden Freelove was third.
After school athletics & clubs: There will be a 7th & 8th grade ROBOTICS meeting after school today and tomorrow until 3:20 PM. There is no YEARBOOK club meeting today. We will resume meetings after Thanksgiving. There will be a NEWSPAPER club meeting tomorrow in room 111 until 3:00. New members are joining each week, and all are welcome! The last day of girls BASKETBALL tryouts is today after school from 2:00-4:00. Boys BASKETBALL tryouts are Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00-4:00.
The Apponequet swim program has been approved by the MIAA for 7th & 8th grade students to participate with the high school swim team. There will be a preseason meeting at the pool on Thursday, November 10th at 2:30. Practice starts on Monday, November 28th. All practices are directly after school at the GRAIS pool. Any student with interest should attend the meeting. Please be sure to enter the GRAIS building through the side pool door.

The middle school cross country team finished their season yesterday. Both the boys and girls teams finished third overall! It was a great season. Coach Hebert and Coach Gallagher would like to thank all the runners for a great and successful season!

Attention all singers, actors and dancers! It's that time of year again. The FLMS Drama Club is getting ready for this year's production of Annie Jr. Auditions and callbacks are November 2nd and 3rd from 2:5-4:00 PM in the auditorium. In order to audition, you need to join the Google classroom, fill out the audition Google form and come prepared to sing and act. All the information you need is on the Annie Jr. Google classroom. You can find the classroom code on signs around the building or come see Mrs. Blell or Mr. Johnson in the music room.
We did it! For the first time in school history, the FLMS soccer team has gone undefeated and are this year's league champions! After beating Dighton Middle School last Thursday by a score of 7 to 0, it was officially official, undefeated league champs! A big congratulations goes out to all the players on the team, you guys are awesome!
