It's your lucky day! The application deadline for After the Bell Introduction to Horse and Pony Management and Care has been extended! The new deadline for applications is this Friday, October 7th. Applications can be found in the front lobby, guidance office, and by emailing or seeing Ms. Saben. This will definitely be the final deadline. Gallop...don't walk! Seventh grade students, want to go ROBO? Join the Freetown Lakeville Middle School 7th grade robotics club! You will be using EV3 technology to build and code a robot. See Mr. Friedrichs in the computer science room, next to the library, for a robotics application.
October is breast cancer awareness month and is an annual campaign to raise awareness for the disease. The goal is to get as many people as possible involved in raising awareness and the funds to help support life-saving research and life-changing support. Wear pink tomorrow, Wednesday, October 5th to show support for breast cancer survivors and raise awareness for their story.
The FLMS soccer team too care of part one of challenge week, beating a strong Seekonk team by a score of 4 to 1. The game was tied1 to 1 at half, but FLMS came out with some intensity to start the second half. The team looks to continue the good momentum as they take on first place Swansea on Wednesday. There is no soccer practice today.

The FLMS soccer team beat Westport yesterday by a score of 5 to 1. The team is currently 4 and 0 but has an extremely difficult week coming up as they take on the two strongest teams in the league. The team will play Dighton at home on Thursday and we hope to see our usual fans there. Keep up the good work, team!
The FLMS cross country team improved their record to 2 and 0 for both boys and girls yesterday by beating Norton. It was a great TEAM effort by both teams. They look to keep their undefeated season alive next Wednesday with another home meet!
The FLMS soccer team beat Somerset Middle School yesterday by a score of 7 to 1. The team plays at home on Thursday against Westport. Keep up the great work, team!
The FLMS Newspaper Club will be holding its first meeting on Wednesday, October 12 with Mrs. Gallagher in room 111 from 2:05-3:00. Anyone who is interested in joining the Newspaper Club or just seeing what it is all about is invited to attend. The Newspaper Club meets 1-2 time per month and creates 3 issues of The Freelake Ledger, a digital newspaper, each school year.
Attention 8th graders! The grade 8 Freelake Leaders are accepting new members. Starting today, anybody who did not apply to the Freelake Leaders last year and would like to, can pickup an application in the guidance office. Please get them to Mrs. Jolly as soon as possible but no later than Friday the 30th. Space is limited, and first come, first served.

The FLMS soccer team kicked off their season yesterday afternoon and it couldn't have started any better. FLMS took home their first win of the season, beating Bridgewater by a score of 7 to 0. The team looks to continue their winning ways as they travel to Middleboro this afternoon. Good luck, team!

Any student interested in helping in the planning and creation of the yearbook is invited to attend the first meeting of the year. The boys and girls cross country team had their first meet yesterday against Berkley. The girls ran first and were able to get the win. The boys ran next and crushed the competition! It was great to see how both the boys and the girls cheered as the other group ran. Great job! The next practice is on Monday, September 19th. See you all then!
