Laker Nation honors our custodial staff for the upcoming Custodian Day on October 2nd. Our tireless team not only manages the sparkling upkeep of the building, but they also welcome and work alongside our junior custodian interns throughout the summer and at the end of the school day. Thank you to our custodial staff - you are appreciated!
This Thursday, September 28th, the Guidance Department hosted a second College Fair for grades 10-12. Students and staff wore their college gear and met with thirty colleges, universities, and branches of service.
Our Lakers Unified Basketball team lost a hard fought battle in their home opener vs. ORR this week. Nonetheless, the team worked together to put on an incredible display of inclusion and leadership for all those in attendance. Offensive contributions were made by Jonathan Earl and Lindsey LeBeau, scoring 6 points each; Brayden Dorsey and Cliff Holmberg, scoring 4 points each; and Jacob Guilherme, Lizzie Ollerhead, and Javon Thorpe, all scoring 2 points each. Defensively, Abigail Travassos, Ashley Silva, and Lindsey LeBeau shined bright and fought hard to secure the ball.
A huge shout out to the students and staff who took some time to come show their love and support. There are two more chances to see the Lakers play at home on October 11 and October 16. Go Lakers!
The first meeting of Yearbook Club was held this week to design the 2023-2024 yearbook. All are welcome and encouraged to join. Student Council also held its first night meeting to plan Homecoming, our fall Pep Rally, and Apponecon. Get involved!
This coming week brings a Senior milestone as grade 12 students will head to the bleachers on Griffith Field to take the annual class photo on the half-curriculum day. All students will be dismissed at 11:00 am.

Our Wellness Department is always offering ways for students to learn about health and safety and to practice these trends. Last week, grade 10 CPR was featured. This week, we feature “Fitness Choice Wednesdays” in which all students meet in the gym and choose from 3-4 activities such as yoga, walking the track, pilates, exercise stations, or weight room. This week, these students chose lower-body workouts and look pleased with the results!
