Have a wonderful summer!

January 20 - 27, 2017

January 20 to 27, 2017

Greetings Laker Nation and Welcome to the Start of Semester II,

Freetown Historical Society Museum and the ARHS Digital Art & Photography Students  present an Art  Exhibit on Saturday, January 21, 2017, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Freetown Historical Society Museum Grimshaw Meeting Room.  Please support our young artists and tour the exhibit.  Here is a link to an article about the event:

The Introduction to Meteorology class took a field trip to the Blue Hill Observatory in Canton. The class toured the oldest continuously operated weather observatory in the United States, learned about its history, and the methods of data collection dating back to 1885.  While touring the observatory’s rooftop, the students were treated to amazing views of Boston Harbor, the surrounding skyline and Mount Monadnock in Jaffrey, NH some 80 miles away.  Thanks to Mr. Glen for making this trip possible.

Fifteen energetic leaders from Student Council participated in the Winter SEMASC Conference at Quincy High School. The theme of the conference, Extreme Makeover: Leadership Edition, featured musician and Boston native Davey Muise who inspired students to overcome all kinds of adversity and help to "dig" others out of their own negativity. At the conference a dynamic and engaging Ayla Canaran and Cam Silva officially announced Apponequet's role in hosting the SEMASC Spring Conference: SEMASC: Be Nice. Stay tuned for more excitement coming from Student Council!

ARHS’s LakeCAM and SRO Interns completed their course of study this past week.  Click here to view a finished product from our LakeCAM students and visit our site to see a presentation from the SRO crew.

Attention Grade 8 Parents/Guardians:  Please join Mrs. Paula Money on Thursday, January 26th at 6:30 pm in the ARHS Lecture Hall for “High School Planning for College and Career Success”.  This is a valuable presentation for parents/guardians of grade 8 students who may have a child entering ARHS for the first time or for parents/guardians who would like updated information on course selections and pre-college and post secondary planning.  Students, who will have the opportunity to learn more about ARHS and the course selection process during our small group sessions in March, are welcome to attend; however, the night will be geared toward parents/guardians. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Money at
