The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District voted to remain a School Choice District for the 2018-19 school year. The school district will provide limited slots in all grades K-12 and at all five schools. The district currently has 46 school choice students. All pertinent information on this topic including application forms may be found on our website www.freelake.org.
We will continue to use the One-Call Communication System to provide families with the necessary school cancellation and delay information. In addition to the One-Call, we will utilize the school website and all local media outlets to communicate information in a timely manner for our families in Freetown and Lakeville. Please keep in mind that my decision will be based on multiple reliable sources and will focus on the safety for all children and adults. Our last school day is currently, Wednesday, June 20, 2018.
As the FY 19 budget season continues, we will look to your support as we provide appropriate resources to meet our growing educational needs. Our recent success will only continue if we meet our monetary commitment to “raise the bar” in both towns. The preliminary FY 19 school budget discussion will continue at our next school committee meeting, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the ARHS Library.
I look forward to our continued drive toward excellence in 2018, as we raise the bar for all students. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call 508-923-2000 ext. 1703 or email me at email@example.com.
