The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District was designated at Level 2 as a district and at all five schools by the DESE. The state accountability system classifies districts and schools in Levels 1-5, with a 1 being the highest ranking. There will be a formal presentation to the school committee this Wednesday, October 12, 2016 on the district MCAS results. Individual student results were mailed home last week. The principals will present school improvement plans on November 2, 2016, which will include actions to “raise the bar” with our scores. I remain committed to working with the teaching staff to see all of our students succeed on the next-generation of MCAS testing that will start in the Spring of 2017.
We are excited to announce that we continue to strengthen our relationship with the senior citizens in both Freetown and Lakeville. The school district will host two senior breakfast events this month at Freetown Elementary School on October 19, 2016 and at Assawompset Elementary School on October 26, 2016. Last year these events were a huge success and we look forward to our continued partnership with the Council on Aging in both communities.
Our next school committee meeting is Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Apponequet Regional High School beginning at 6:30 p.m. Please enjoy the long weekend with family and friends. I appreciate your support for all our schools and I look forward to our continued drive toward excellence. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call at 508-923-2000 ext. 1703 or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
