Don’t forget to turn back your clocks this weekend. We will continue to use the One-Call Communication System to provide all families with the necessary school cancellation or delay information. Please keep in mind that my decision will be based on multiple reliable sources and will focus on the safety of our students and staff. In addition, to the One-Call System, we will utilize the school website and all local media outlets to communicate information in a timely manner for our families in Freetown and Lakeville.
The national election day is Tuesday, November 8, 2016. This will be a professional development day for all staff members and there will be no school for our students. The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School Committee joined a list of over 150 Massachusetts school boards opposing Question 2 on the November election ballot that would lift the cap on the number of charter schools. At our October 12th school committee meeting the board approved a resolution opposing Question 2 based on the funding and the potential negative impact on the children of Freetown and Lakeville.
The FY 18 budget season is underway and we will need your support more than ever as we look to provide appropriate resources to meet our growing educational needs. Our next school committee meeting is Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Apponequet Regional High School beginning at 6:30 p.m. I appreciate your support for all our schools and I look forward to our continued drive toward excellence. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call at 508-923-2000 ext. 1703 or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
