Today many schools in the Commonwealth participated in a moment of silence in honor of the fifteenth anniversary of September 11, 2001. This Sunday, September 11, 2016, our nation will mark the anniversary of the deadliest terrorist attack in our nation’s history. Our hope is that this moment of peaceful reflection in honor of those we lost, brings comfort to their families. This act of unity by school children in our state serves as a reminder of our strength as a community and state.
We have multiple open house nights in the coming weeks to provide important information to our students and families. Please try to take advantage of the many opportunities to attend school events and stay involved in your child’s education this year. Each school report will be included every week for timely updates. Our next school committee meeting will be Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Apponequet Regional High School beginning at 6:30 p.m. I appreciate your support for all our schools and I look forward to our continued drive toward excellence. Please enjoy your first school weekend. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call at 508-923-2000 ext. 1703 or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
