The FLRSD is excited to report out the public release of the ARHS 2016 graduation rate and annual drop-out rate reports for our district. The annual dropout rate is at a district all-time low of 0.3%. This trend of reducing the total number of students dropping out is down from 2.0% in 2010. We continue to stress the importance of education, life-long learning, and creating multiple program options for all our students. Our graduation rates remain high for 4-year and 5-year groups at 94.5 % and 97.5% for the 2015-16 academic year.
The FLRSD School Committee is excited to invite everyone to our grand re-opening of the GRAIS Pool on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. The school board and administration would like to thank both towns for their support for this capital renovation project. The event will hopefully be the first of many activities at the pool to create an awareness of the facility and to provide information on potential programs for your children.
The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District FY 18 preliminary budget continues to be examined by all stakeholders. The initial 5.9 percentage increase from the FY 17 budget is a level services budget. Please join us at our next school committee meeting, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in the ARHS library beginning at 6:30 p.m. We will need your support more than ever as we look to provide appropriate resources to meet our growing educational needs. Please be reminded that Thursday, March 9, 2017 will be an early release day for students for the purpose of professional development for our staff members. Our last school day is currently, Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Thank you for your support and I look forward to our continued drive toward excellence. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call at 508-923- 2000 ext. 1703 or e-mail me at email@example.com.
