Afternoon Activities:

  • On any occasion that your child is not going to stay for an activity in which he/she is enrolled, please send in a note or call/email (508-923-3506 x3100/gstone@freelake.org) Mrs. Stone as soon as possible.

  • The after-school program and community recreation programs will make you aware of their pick-up procedures.

  • Questions on the Fore & Aft Program should be directed to Lisa Pacheco (lpacheco@freelake.org or 508-923-2000 x 1730).

  • Questions on the Community Recreation Program should be directed to Diane Czapiga (dczapiga@freelake.org or 508-923-2000 x 1719).

Afternoon Pick-up Procedure to Keep Everyone Safe:

  • Please park in the upper lot and walk to the cafeteria entrance, just beyond the main entrance.

  • Children will not be dismissed to walk to cars unattended.

  • Parents/Guardians must present a valid photo ID when picking up children.

  • If a child typically rides the bus, but he/she is being picked up on a given day, please notify the main office as soon as possible.

  • Bus routes should be completed in a few weeks and will be posted to the website.

  • Questions regarding routes should be directed to Mr. Rezendes at 508-763-9260 or kenneth.rezendes@firstgroup.com.

  • Your child will not be released from the bus in the afternoon without an adult present if you’ve not completed a form.

  • If you have any concerns regarding behavior on the bus, please call Dr. Sullivan (508-923-3506 x3150) or Mr. Rezendes (508.763.9260) right away. Requests for bus transfers are only allowed for permanent situations, per the bus company.  Single day transfers are not allowed.  Transfer request forms are available on the district website. Once you have completed the form, submit it to the school’s main office.

Grades/Report Cards/Portal:

  • Starting at the intermediate level, students are graded using a letter system (A, B, C, D, and F).

  • Students will receive conduct and effort ratings and progress on learning habits.

  • Your student’s grades will be routinely updated on the parent portal.

  • We have trimesters, and report cards will be posted to the portal at the end of each.  Paper reports cards are not used.

  • The anticipated dates on which grades will close are:  12/1, 3/18 and 6/10.

  • You will receive parent portal login information in the fall. If you need assistance with the portal, Mrs. Stone (gstone@freelake.org) is happy to help.

Homework Expectations/Open House:

  • Individual teams will communicate their routines and expectations surrounding homework at our 2021 Open House Evening.

  • Open House will be held for students and their parents/guardians on September 2nd from 5:45 - 7:15 p.m.  So that you do not miss any important team information, we ask that you arrive on time.

  • Students will be expected to write down their homework assignments in their agenda books daily, so that families can use this book as a resource and a means of communication with teachers.

  • Each student is assigned a locker that is just outside his/her homeroom.  Lockers hold books, coats and outerwear, and backpacks.

  • Backpacks with wheels do not fit in the lockers, so it is advised that you do not purchase them.

  • Locks are not used on lockers in grade four, but are in grade five.

  • Students may decorate and personalize the inside of their lockers with materials that can be removed at the end of the year.

  • The lunch block is scheduled from 10:55 through 12:15, with grade four having the first two 20-minute periods, and grade five having the second two.

  • ELA homerooms will eat in the cafeteria while math homerooms are at recess, and then they will switch.

  • In the cafeteria, children are encouraged to sit with whomever they wish daily, but are asked to look out for one another by inviting others to join them.

  • We have three hydration stations this year.  Children are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles to school to refill throughout the day.

  • Free lunch for all students has been extended through June of 2022.

  • Free breakfast for all is grab-and-go style on the way to homeroom.

  • All questions regarding food service should be directed to Andrea Fay at afay@freelake.org or at 508-923-2000 x1146.

Morning Drop-off Procedure to Keep Everyone Safe:

  • The drop-off lane near the pool entrance is monitored by staff between 8:20 - 8:30 and allows for vehicles to pull to the curb to let out children from the right side only.

  • Children may be released from vehicles starting at 8:20 when staff is present.

  • Children are to walk along on the sidewalk into the building, where more staff will be stationed daily.

  • Students may enter the building beginning at 8:20.

  • Parents/Guardians only escort their children into the main office if the child is tardy (after 8:30).

  • For child care before this time, please contact Lisa Pacheco at 508-923.2000 x 1730 in the Fore & Aft Program.

  • Parking in front of the building is ALWAYS prohibited, as this area is designated for buses.  It is also a fire lane, so after buses clear, it  must remain clear throughout the day.  Visitors to the school, regardless of the intended length of stay, must park in one of our lots.

  • Please note the speed limit as you enter the road to the building.  We have many walkers, as well as students from the two other campus schools on the grounds at different times throughout the day.
