October is National Bullying Prevention Month and to honor kindness, acceptance and inclusion, AES will be wearing orange on Wednesday, October 20th. While bullying is a serious situation, children and parents should understand that bullying refers to when one or more people, who have greater physical or social power, act verbally or physically aggressive to another person(s) with less power. The behaviors are not a one time incident but rather a repetitive situation. One time incidents may simply be accidental or intentional and need to be discussed to determine the situation. The MARC Center at Bridgewater State University conducts ongoing research into bullying and cyberbullying and has information and resources available to schools and families.
