The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released the 2018 MCAS accountability results. Individual Parent/Student Reports were mailed out last week for your children. The FLRSD received a designation as “not requiring assistance or intervention” and partially meeting targets. The state designated 90% of districts in this category with 75% of Massachusetts school districts categorized as partially meeting targets. Individual school and district results will be reviewed in more detail at the November 7, 2018 school committee meeting.

Please keep in mind that this is the first year of the new accountability system. We will review and analyze the first year results as we continue to improve our school district. The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District celebrated “High Five Friday” at all five schools today. This annual event features police officers greeting our children as they arrive for school and exchange “High Fives”.
