Please be informed that I have made the decision to cancel all summer programming this year, which includes our Kids Cafe, all Sports Camps, and our on site Extended School Year (ESY) Program. As a result of Governor Baker’s announcement last week on the Reopening of Massachusetts, the Freetown-Lakeville School District carefully reviewed the ability to safely open our campus summer programs and site activities. The district will however continue with the ESY program using remote learning starting July 6, 2020 and ending August 6, 2020. We recognized the safety risks, timeliness, safeguards, and CDC requirements that needed to be in place prior to moving forward as part of our plan. This information outweighed our desire to return to normal programming for the summer. Our top priority remains the safety and health of our students and staff members and so this final decision on these programs will allow us to focus all of our energy on a safe re-entry in the fall for all students and staff members.

Please review his helpful insight into expectations and direction for our children. See Announcements for a copy of his informative letter for your review. The Freetown-Lakeville School Community awaits the governor’s announcement on May 18th on the next phase for the state on future plans and activities. Previously, Governor Baker announced all schools in the Commonwealth will be closed for the remainder of the school year. This includes all on-site school related activities and events in our district through June 2020. Our remote learning plan for the remainder of this school year now includes enhanced guidance from the state regarding instruction. In addition, you should have received some important school-level information from principals on these plans.
