Raise the Bar

The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District will continue to use the One-Call Communication System to provide families with the necessary school cancellation or delay information.  The school district is once again using a web-based program, Parents Plus Portals, where parents will be able to access information about their child’s educational progress and grades. Parents of students in grades 4-12 will have access to the portal.  Please take advantage of this wonderful communication tool for your children:

Parents or students with questions on accessing their Portal accounts may email plusportal@freelake.org.

We continue to strengthen our relationship with the senior citizens in both Freetown and Lakeville. The school district will host two senior breakfast events on October 17, 2018 at Freetown Elementary School and October 24, 2018 at Assawompset Elementary School. The last few years these events were a huge success and we look forward to our continued partnership with the Council on Aging in both communities.

The National Cyber Awareness System is sharing the following Back-to-School Cyber Safety message:  Many of our children return to school with mobile devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Although these devices can help students with their homework and stay in touch with family and friends, there are risks associated with using them. However, there are simple steps that can help keep our students safe while using their mobile devices and getting online. The national center recommends reviewing the following tips and resources with your children:

Our next school committee meeting for the 2018-19 school year will be next Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the ARHS Library.  I look forward to our continued drive toward excellence, as we raise the bar for all students. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call  508-923-2000 ext. 1703 or email me at rmedeiros@freelake.org.
