Raise The Bar

I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Please take this opportunity to reflect on what is truly important and enjoy some quality time with family and friends.  As we complete nearly one third of the school year, please know that we remain committed to all of our Freetown and Lakeville families during this holiday season.

We have already completed 48 school days in this academic year. As the cold weather and the holiday season approaches, the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District will continue to use the One-Call Communication System to provide families with necessary safety updates and school cancellation or delay information. The safety of our students and staff remains my top priority.

The FY’23 budget season is underway and we will need your continued support as we look to provide appropriate resources to meet our growing educational needs. The next Regional School Committee meeting will be Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. at the high school.

DESE announced that the mask requirement in schools will be extended until January 15, 2022. The state will continue to work with medical experts and state health officials to evaluate the mask requirement beyond January 15, 2022.  If a school demonstrates a vaccination rate of 80 percent or more of all students and staff, then vaccinated individuals in that school would no longer be subject to the state mask requirement. Whether or not a school or district avails themselves of the 80 percent vaccination off ramp is a local decision to be made by school and district leaders in consultation with local health officials.

The FLRSD website has reported 82 cases on the COVID District Dashboard so far for the 2021-22 school year, with 17 positive cases recorded this week. We also continue to include school numbers, weekly town COVID information from the State, and updates from the DESE regarding COVID cases in the Commonwealth on our website.
