Raise The Bar

National School Counseling Week 2020, "School Counselors: Helping Build Better Humans," will be celebrated from Feb. 3-7, 2020, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within our schools. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school and career success. Please take this opportunity to recognize and show support for our talented counseling staff at all levels in Freetown and Lakeville this coming week.

The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District FY 21 preliminary budget and the 2020-2021 School Calendar will be presented Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the next school committee meeting. Community members should be informed that the school committee will consider taking action on two school calendars for the next academic year, one starting before Labor Day and one starting after the holiday. All stakeholders are welcome to attend this public meeting to provide input.

This coming year we will need your continued support as we look to provide appropriate resources to meet our growing educational needs. I will keep all community members updated throughout the budget season on upcoming meetings and events. The next Regional Finance Committee meeting will be Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. in the ARHS Library.

The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District will continue to use the One-Call Communication System to provide families with necessary safety updates and school cancellation or delay information. The safety of our students and staff remains my top priority this winter.

Our next school committee meeting will be Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in the ARHS Library at 6:30 p.m. I look forward to our continued drive toward excellence, as we continue to raise the bar for all children. Enjoy the Super Bowl weekend!  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call 508-923-2000 ext. 1703 or email me at rmedeiros@freelake.org
