Go Red Sox!! The FLRSD FY’ 22 School Budget was approved and is now on our website. The budget is $42,474,449 which represents a 3.96% increase over the FY’21 Regional Budget. We need your support more than ever as we move toward upcoming town meetings and a normal school return in the fall. The Lakeville Town Meeting will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 and the Freetown Town Meeting will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021, both events will be in the high school gymnasium.
The FLRSD 2021-22 school calendar is now posted on our website. The opening day for school in the fall is Tuesday, September 7, 2021. We have already completed (123) school days in this academic year. Our last school day for this year remains, Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
As the FLRSD school community prepares for the remaining 47 school days, the new state learning requirements remain consistent with our well communicated local COVID plan. The FLRSD model continues to allow for both cohorts to successfully attend in-person instruction at all levels. The district will continue to safely plan for future in-person instruction for all students. Our next target dates are: Monday, April 12, 2021 for grade 11, Monday, April 26, 2021 for grades 7 and 8, Monday, May 3, 2021 for grade 10, and Monday May 17, 2021 for grade 9.
The FLRSD website continues to provide information on our District Dashboard to report positive cases and close contacts at each school on a daily basis. The website also provides weekly town COVID information from the state and weekly DESE covid cases for all schools in the Commonwealth. We see lower positivity rates in both communities, but still have some work remaining to continue to keep our schools safe.
The FLRSD dashboard reported eight (8) new positive COVID cases this past week impacting our school district community. Our 2020-21 motto of “Respect, Patience, and Flexibility” combined with our district theme of “Raise the Bar'' continues to drive our decision making and mirrors upcoming state plans. The school district will continue to use the One-Call Communication System to provide families with necessary safety updates and school cancellation or delay information. The safety of our students and staff remains my top priority.
Our next school committee meeting will be Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. in the ARHS Library. Our agenda will be available on our website under Announcements. Please continue to stay safe and enjoy the improving spring weather. Go Red Sox!! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call 508-923-2000 ext. 1703 or email me at email@example.com.
