The FLRSD Hybrid Model continues to allow for both cohorts to successfully attend in-person instruction at all levels. The updated second semester calendar through June 16, 2021 remains posted on our website. The state released new transportation guidance removing restrictions effectively immediately. This information is available on the DESE website.
The district will continue to safely plan for future in-person instruction. Our next target date is: Monday, March 8, 2021 for grades 2, 4, 6, and 12.
The FLRSD website continues to provide information on our District Dashboard to report positive cases and close contacts at each school on a daily basis. The website also provides weekly town covid information from the state and weekly DESE covid cases for all schools in the Commonwealth which continue to trend downward.
The FLRSD dashboard reported seven (7) new positive COVID cases this past week impacting our school district community. Our 2020-21 motto of “Respect, Patience, and Flexibility” combined with our district theme of “Raise the Bar'' continues to drive our decision making.
The FLRSD FY 22 Budget was presented to the school committee last week. The proposed budget reflects a 4.3% increase from last year. I have included the presentation on our website for informational purposes. This presentation starts the budget process working with both towns leading up to town meetings in the spring.
We have already completed (94) school days in this academic year. The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District will continue to use the One-Call Communication System to provide families with necessary safety updates and school cancellation or delay information. I will use the news outlets for a true “snow day/delay” call only. The safety of our students and staff remains my top priority.
Our next school committee meeting will be Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. The link will be available on the FLRSD website prior to the meeting. Our agenda will be available on our website under Announcements. Please continue to stay safe and enjoy the upcoming winter vacation. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call 508-923-2000 ext. 1703 or email me at email@example.com.
