This week we celebrated National Teacher Appreciation Week! Our entire school community recognizes and thanks all of our teaching staff for their continued support as we enter the end of the year stretch. The FLRSD schools have already completed 145 school days in this academic year. With only 35 school days left, our last day of school for the 2021-22 school year is Monday, June 27, 2022. Please enjoy the improving weather this Mother’s Day weekend!
The FLRSD reached a milestone before school vacation, with 16 positive cases recorded this past week; our school community has now reported 1,041 cases on the COVID District Dashboard for the 2021-22 school year. The district continues to include school numbers, weekly town COVID information from the State, and updates from the DESE regarding COVID cases in the Commonwealth on our website. We will monitor COVID trends heading into the final six weeks.
The FLRSD FY ’23 School Budget is $43,340,701 which represents a 3.62% increase over the FY ’22 regional budget. We will need your continued support as we move closer to town meetings on May 16, 2022 in Lakeville and June 6, 2022 in Freetown. The budget presentation continues to be posted on our website for your review.
This is a busy and exciting time of year so please check our school event calendars for many end of year activities. We will continue to use the One-Call Communication System to provide families with necessary safety updates and school cancellation or delay information. The safety of our students and staff remains my top priority.
Please be reminded that tomorrow, Friday, May 6, 2022 is an early release day for all schools. The next Regional School Committee meeting will be next Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school library. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call 508-923-2000 extension 1703 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
