This past week our One-Call Communication System was in full use to provide families the necessary school cancellation information. School decisions, like the one made this week, are based on multiple reliable sources. If possible we will attempt to make the decision as early as possible to allow families time to make necessary arrangements. Our primary focus remains the safety of our students and staff. The last school day for this academic year is now Tuesday, June 18, 2019.
The FLRSD FY’ 20 Superintendent’s Budget was discussed at our regularly scheduled school committee meeting this week. The budget remains posted on our website, please click on the link below to view. The FY’20 budget request is $40,120,610 which represents a 4.83% increase over the FY’19 regional budget. We need your support more than ever as we look to provide appropriate resources to meet our growing educational needs. I will keep all stakeholders updated throughout the budget season on upcoming meetings and events. The next Regional Finance Committee meeting will be on April 11, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the ARHS Library.
Final Request. The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District is in need of a new strategic plan. This plan outlines our collective vision, core values, and goals for students, staff and families. In her role as the Director of Curriculum and Assessment, Dr. Marlene Correia is facilitating the process and seeking your valuable input. We invite you to complete the Family Strategic Planning Survey to share your thoughts on what we do best and what we can do better.
Please be reminded that our next school committee meeting will be Wednesday, March 20, 2019 in the ARHS Library at 6:30 p.m. Topics will include the updated FY’20 budget, our 2019-20 School Calendar, and updated School Improvement Plans. I look forward to our continued drive toward excellence. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call 508-923-2000 ext. 1703 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
