Raise the Bar

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season.  As we prepare to celebrate the new year, this is a perfect time to reflect on all of our positive accomplishments and to set new goals for 2019. The 2018-19 School Improvement Plans for all five schools are available for your review on the school website. As we complete 70 school days and enter an exciting last week before the winter break, we will continue to raise the academic bar for all students.

The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District FY 20 preliminary budget will be presented in early February.  We need your support more than ever as we look to provide appropriate resources to meet our growing educational needs. I will keep all stakeholders updated throughout the budget season on upcoming meetings and events. The next Regional Finance Committee meeting will be on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the ARHS Library.

As we prepare for the winter season, the school district will continue to use the One-Call Communication System to provide families with the necessary school cancellation or delay information. School decisions will be based on multiple reliable sources. The safety of our students and staff remains my top priority.

Our next regularly scheduled school committee meeting will be  Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the ARHS Library.  Our last school day before the winter break is an early release day for all students on Friday, December 21, 2018.  I look forward to our continued drive toward excellence, as we raise the bar for all students.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call 508-923-2000 ext. 1703 or email me at rmedeiros@freelake.org.
