Happy Halloween! Please be reminded that there is no school tomorrow for all students as we participate in a district professional development day. We have already completed ¼ of this academic year. As the cold weather and holiday season approaches, the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District will continue to use the One-Call Communication System to provide families with necessary safety updates and school cancellation or delay information.

This past week October 21-25, 2019 we celebrated National Bus Safety Week, and the national theme was, “My School Bus, The Safest Form of Student Transportation”. Please join the entire Freetown-Lakeville School Community in recognizing our outstanding Transportation Director, Mr. Ken Rezendes and all of our wonderful drivers, who work hard to create a safe environment transporting our children everyday in Freetown and Lakeville. This week is also a reminder that parents, students, teachers, motorists, bus drivers, and administrators all play an important role in providing a safe environment on our roads.

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released the 2019 MCAS accountability results last week. This is the second year of the new accountability system. We will be reviewing and analyzing the two year comparison as we continue to improve the school district. Individual Parent/Student Reports were mailed home today for your children. The FLRSD received a designation as “not requiring assistance or intervention” and making “substantial progress toward targets”. Individual school and district results will be reviewed in more detail at the November 6, 2019 school committee meeting.
