Where do I come from?

Why do I have blue eyes?

Why do I have red hair?

My cat doesn't look like her parents... why not?

My little brother is taller than I was at his age. How come?

Questions like this have plagued man since ancient times. Fortunately, with the birth of modern science, we are able to find the answers to these questions.

You must create a web page consisting of four (4) sections. Each section must be complete, including web sources and at least one (1) image. The sections should include:
Section 1 - Who you are, why you are making this page, what information is on the page

Section 2 - Gregor Mendel - A short biography in your own words, also tell what he discovered

Section 3 - Dominant Recessive Genes - What are they? Show an example. (Hint: Think punnett squares!)

Section 4 - What does this mean about you? What kind of dominant genes might you possess? Include at least 2 paragraphs to describe this.

Steps:

1. Research Gregory Mendel. (see resources)

2. Determine what "dominant" and "recessive"genes are.

3. Using the storyboard, plan your web page.

4. Create the web site. Your computer teacher will assist you with this.

5. Students will be graded on the technical areas of their web site. (See scoring.)

6. Students will present their web pages to the class. In order to get an A for the presentation, students need to give me more information than what is in the web page. It should take about 2 days to show all pages.

All spelling is correct.

Accuracy/Content

Errors are common. Little to no information about Mendel, dominant or recessive genes, few or no self-traits evaluated.

Most information is correct - 2-4 facts about Mendel, 2-4 facts about dominant & recessive genes, and students evaluate 2-4 of their own traits.

All information is correct - 5 facts about Mendel, 5 facts about dominant & recessive genes, and students evaluate 5 of their own traits
