Although I have been in the profession since 1984, I have been a Seventh Grade Social Studies Teacher at GRAMS and FLMS only since 1995. Teaching within the framework of man's early civilizations, I believe my role, hand-in-hand with parents, is to teach understanding and tolerance of other cultures and religions, especially in these unsettling times. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Robbin, and my twins, Emily and Noah. I am working on my Master's Degree in History with a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies at Rhode Island College. One of my favorite pastimes is bicycling, and I am a member of several organizations that work to encourage people to safely use their bicycles for transportation and to safeguard the rights of bicyclists on our nation's roads. People also often notice my love of all things Disney and my fanatic support of the New York Yankees. In what little spare time I have, I devour crossword puzzles and Star Trek novels. Please feel free to contact me at any time to discuss your child's progress or just to say, "Hi!" I can be reached here at school or by email at jbeauchamp@freelake.org. 9/06 |
