 Internet Safety

By Jay Ben M

The Internet is an excellent method of communication, and certainly provides some entertainment, but it nonetheless has many disadvantages. Many of these disadvantages can, and sometimes do, prove embarrassing or worse to people. Some have even lost their lives. For these reasons, a knowledge of Internet safety is vital to anyone, children especially.

If you give personal information online, people can track you, humiliate you, even kidnap or kill you. For instance, if you tell someone where you like to go after school, they could ambush you. If you post opinions in a chat room, they could be exaggerated, and maybe become dangerous. More likely, someone could tell everyone in town about some embarrassing incident or other that you chose to mention online.

It is not particularly likely that these things will happen (except for the last one), but it can happen. Besides, there's no point in taking a chance. People should always be careful of what they put on the Internet. You never know what a simple, careless sentence can lead to.

Internet Safety

The Internet is a great way of communicating, playing games, and getting information. However, sometimes too much information is given in chat rooms or e-mail. This can lead to serious problems.

If your name is given out on the Internet, people can break into your private accounts. (i.e. e-mail accounts, Web site passwords) You also should never use your name, personal information, or address in your screen name. Also, other information on line can be forwarded to people you don't even know.

If the person you are instant messaging starts asking for personal information, don't give it to them. If you have already given personal information there could be serious results (i.e. kidnapping, threats, and death). So when this happens tell your parents or a trusted adult. If they are treating you should call the police and have them try to put a stop to it. You may get in trouble but it is either get in trouble or keep on getting threatened and being scared.

So, if you are careful the Internet will open great doors to your world.

The Internet is fun but using it can be dangerous. You should never give personal information online. You never know who could be reading it. If you send e-mail don't tell them where you live. Tell them in person when you see them.

Most people are nice and wouldn't hurt you but you need to be careful. Some people are not nice.

Internet Safety

The Internet is fun and entertaining but not all of it is good! Some sites are nasty and you don't mean to go there. It's not the kids' fault! People shouldn't be putting nasty things on the Internet!

You shouldn't be putting your real name in chat rooms. That's probably why screen names where invented. You shouldn't put your address either, or any personal stuff like that. If you accidentally do, then tell a parent or adult that you trust right away.

The Internet is a good thing, but you have to be careful. There are some Accost out there who want to take you away forever. You should never give out any information about yourself. It could put your life on the line because people will threaten you or get a little too personal.

If this ever happened you should tell an adult right away. Or, if it is very, very serious you should tell the police. So never give out any information about yourself whatsoever.

Be safe on line!

Internet Safety

The Internet isn't bad, but it just can be dangerous. You should never give anyone any personal information. Someone could start making rumors about what you put online. Also, you never know when someone could be planning to do something to you and trying to earn your trust by talking to you online.

Try to avoid these things and be safe online.

Internet Safety

The Internet can be fun. Everyone knows that. It can be dangerous as well. One example of how dangerous it can be is if you were in a chat room. Then, all of a sudden, someone you don't know started talking to you. You thought they seemed nice, and scheduled a time for both of you to go online and talk. You felt like you could tell them anything, so you told them where you live, how old you are, and things like that. Then they wouldn't leave you alone. You tried everything you could think of, like changing your screen, but that didn't work because all of the screen ames you could think of (or liked) were already taken. You tried to tell them your Dad was a policeman, but they knew you were lying. (But if one of your parents is a police officer, you are very lucky.) So, this only leads to one thing......GO GET HELP!!!!! You can do one of these things: #1 Tell your parents; #2 Tell a police officer; #3 try to fix it yourself. If you even have the brains of a toad, you know (or should know,) that number three is completely out of the question. So, now that you know why the Internet can be DANGEROUS, maybe you will be a little more careful.

The Internet can be a good and useful thing. It helps you do school projects, or you could just play games. The Internet can also be a bad thing. It could spread rumors and/or get you into trouble. If you think you know someone from the Internet and you have never met them before they could be trouble.

If you are careful you won't have any problems.

Internet Safety

The Internet has a wide selection of information, communication, and deception. Many people on the Internet are vile beings, only meaning to harm and/or deceive other people. Many authorities do not know when or where this criminal activity is happening because the Internet has such a wide variety of sites, also known as "web pages". Good things are spread all over the Internet, but there are many things on the Internet that are bad.

Chat rooms are one of the most popular things on the Internet. There are thousands of chat rooms across the Web (another name for the internet) and many people use them in their day-to-day lives. However, not all people use it for the cause of having a nice little conversation. "Screen names" should be different from real names but not all people realize that it could do any harm to have a screen name that is your true name. People can easily look in a book to check your telephone number and bug or even harm you at your own home.

One other kind of bad person that uses the Web is somebody known as a "hacker". Hackers can invade your personal computer and change whatever they like. This can be a real problem in companies that have saved information on their computers. It is actually quite easy to add a download to your Web site to erase your entire hard rive.

In conclusion, always remember to check with your parents or other trusted adults before you get involved with ANYTHING over the Internet.
