Birthday Celebration for Dr. Seuss

Remember GRAMS

"Hat's Off - Once Again" by Louise E. Domingos

On Friday, March 2, 2001, Mrs. Domingos' Reading Class celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday with student readers and a party. Sixteen former students from grades six, seven, and eight joined the fifth graders for this third annual event. Each of the older students shared reading a Dr. Seuss story with one of the fifth graders. This year, Holly Deane's students joined the festivities. One of her students, Aaron Hazard, also took a turn reading to a group. Everyone had an enjoyable experience.

This year's theme was "Oh, the places you'll go." A life-size cover of the book "greeted" all who entered the classroom. It had been drawn and decorated by Mrs. Deane's students. At the end of the event, everyone received a packet of Dr. Seuss activities, and the readers received a certificate from our principal Dr. Jeanne Bonneau."Hats Off" to the parents, students and staff who continue to make this a wonderful event. Each year it gets better and better. From the Sneetches to the Lorax to the Cat in the Hat, we all extend our thanks for a great day!

The following students should be congratulated for their efforts. Eighth Grade: Lindsey B, Jenn L, Erin L, Bethany L, Bobby R

Seventh Grade: Jaime L, Jessica M, Jon Z

Sixth Grade: Neil A, Adam D, Alyssa F, Amber R, Cherena R, Joey S, Joey S, Seth W
