Harrison Media Center
Rededication
May 23,
2001
The George R. Austin Middle
School's Library Media Center, known for years as the "Harrison
Media Center" or "HMC," was rededicated at a ceremony held on
Wednesday, May 23, 2001. Speakers included Ms. Gail Dooley-Zamaitis,
HMC Media Specialist, Dr. Jeanne Bonneau, GRAMS Principal, Dr.
Stephen Furtado, Director of Instruction and representing the
Superintendent's Office, and Mr. James Kenney, representing the
Middleboro Tennis Association and making a donation on its behalf.
Paul Harrison was a founding member of that association. Moving
speeches were also made by Mr. James Taylor, Fifth Grade Teacher, and
Mr. Richard Bonnar, Sixth Grade Teacher. Both were longtime friends
and colleagues of Paul Harrison. Mrs. Harrison expressed her thanks
for the rededication.
A group of eighth graders sang "I Will Remember
You" at the conclusion of the addresses.
