Late Bus Rules for Middle School Students

Taking the late bus is a privilege and a convenience for students remaining after school for appropriate reasons, which may include library use, extra curricular help, extra curricular meetings or practices, teacher tutorials, other after school events resulting in a student's needing transportation after the regular dismissal time. The late bus is not to be used by students who remain after school for social reasons or who leave the campus and return.  All use of the late bus is by students who have a pass signed by school personnel.  No one without a pass will be allowed on the late bus.

To ensure smooth operation and to clarify expectations for Middle School students using the late bus, the following rules are in effect:

  1. All Middle School students using the late bus must board the bus at the Middle School and present the bus driver a late bus pass.
  2. All Middle School students will sit in the front half of the bus.
  3. All students will sit in the seat designated by the driver.  No exceptions.
  4. All rules pertaining to regular bus runs are in effect on the late bus.
  5. One disciplinary referral by the bus driver on the late bus will result in the loss of late bus privileges for a specific time to be determined by an administrator.  Subsequent disciplinary action as described in the Freetown-Lakeville Middle School Student Handbook may also result.
  6. The late bus stops only at those points designated by the bus company.  No exceptions can be made.
