Donations of new socks for infants, children, men, and women may be brought to school all month. The socks will be given to local shelters to help those in need. Questions should be directed to Miss Sullivan at extension 2206.

About our P.T.O.
The focus of the P.T.O. is to enhance the educational and extracurricular atmosphere of the school. The P.T.O. provides funds for all of the cultural arts programs, sponsors the 6th, 7th and 8th grade socials, provides funds for the field trips, provides all of the drinks and snacks for all of the children during the MCAS exams, and provides funds for the classroom wish list. The wish list includes, paper, glue sticks, tissues, materials for projects just to name a few.
Membership and Meetings
The P.T.O. is open to all adults with children attending Freetown-Lakeville Middle School. Meetings are held on the 1st Monday of each month (unless there is a holiday), at 7:00 p.m. in the school library.
To make our programs successful, we need your help. You can help as little or as much as you wish. We are always looking for new ideas and new faces!
Please download a hard copy, fill out the volunteer form and return it to school. Checking something off does not obligate you to that function if a conflict arises. We need to have a list of volunteers we can call upon throughout the school year. Thank you so much. Helping your children is a very worthwhile investment!

Congratulations to our Freetown-Lakeville Middle School P.T.O. for receiving a new England League of Middle Schools Parent and Community Group Award for 2003! Here is part of the letter our PTO received from New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS) on February 7, 2003:
"Congratulations! your group has been selected to receive a New England League of Middle Schools Parent and Community Group Award for 2003. The purpose of this award is to honor and recognize parent and community groups who value, understand and support effective middle level education. You have met or exceeded the stated criteria! It is obvious from the materials we received that the group understands how young adolescents learn and that the group is a champion of and actively promotes middle level education. The group has built community support for middle level education, and recognizes that middle level education is a distinct entity within the K-12 educational system."
