Mission Statement

The mission of the community of Assawompset School is to provide students with the opportunities necessary to develop into well-rounded, independent and responsible individuals who demonstrate self-respect and an appreciation for diversity. Recognizing there are many different learning styles, a variety of teaching methods are utilized to offer numerous avenues for student achievement and life-long learning. The involvement of the entire Lakeville community is vital to the achievement of the school's goal.

School Hours

School begins at 9:20 a.m. and ends at 3:20 p.m. except on days when school is dismissed early for teacher workshops. The morning session of Kindergarten begins at 9:20 a.m. and ends at 11:55 a.m.The afternoon session of Kindergarten begins at 12:35 p.m. and ends at 3:20 p.m. The children alternate to the opposite session at mid-point of the school year. Parents will receive a notice regarding the date.

All adults must enter the school via the front entrance and sign in at the office during school hours. All our outer doors are locked when school begins.

Students being dropped off at the beginning of the school day in lieu of the bus must enter through the cafeteria doors located at the back of the school near the playground no earlier than 9:00 am.

Students being picked up either in lieu of the school bus or during school hours, must send in a dismissal note to the office stating the time, date and who will be picking the child up.

If a student arrives late after the school opening hour's dismissed during school hours the must be signed out from the office by a parent or guardian.

Students is being picked up at the end of the school day in lieu of taking the school bus, they must be picked up at the cafeteria and signed out to the adult stated on the dismissal note.

Vehicular traffic is prohibited in the front of the building from 9:10 - 9:30 a.m. and from 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. Parents or guardians picking up a student at the end of the school day must park in the parking area located near the playground at the back of the school.

Visitor Parking is available during school hours in the small parking lot at the school's main entrance.
