Assawompset Elementary school is a modern, 80,00 square foot facility, housing 700+ children in pre school through grade four. It is located in Lakeville, Ma, a rural to suburban community of approximately 8200 residents, which is located in southeastern Ma. at the western edge of Plymouth county. This is the only school in the Lakeville Public School District. This situation has been most beneficial in allowing school based decision making to flourish. The Lakeville School Committee, directly concerned only with the education of the children at Assawompset, has the time to focus on educational issues and/or problems which may arise here.

We have three elements in place which helped us survive: dedicated parents, an outstanding faculty and a supportive school committee. Assawompset has become a community school. the members of our school community have joined forces to provide the best we can for our children.
